History of Fiberglass:

During the early 20th century, in the interest of public safety, it became common practice to install steel fuel storage tanks underground.
By the 1960s it had become obvious that internal and external corrosion was causing leaks and environmental damage.
The leading composites developer of the time, Owens Corning, got to work developing a dependable solution.
In 1964, they released the Fiberglas® Tank, the first of its kind, made of corrosion resistant, non-degrading fiber reinforced plastic, or FRP.
In 1984, the next level of storage safety was introduced with the first double-wall underground fiberglass tank, providing another layer of protection.
In 1988, the Federal UST Regulations were introduced, setting legal environmental standards for the entirety of the oil and gas industry.

History of Containment Solutions:

In the interest of refocusing on their core businesses, Owens Corning sold the assets of its tank division in 1994, which became what is now Containment Solutions, Inc.

Since then:

We’ve taken the company to new heights.
The same year we were formed, we introduced our line of water tanks under the Flowtite® brand name.
In 2004, we introduced the Hydroguard ® System
- A system that combines a proven technology of double-wall fiberglass tanks with the advanced protection of double-wall tank sumps in a hydrostatically monitored environment.

In 2016, we opened a new 160,000 Sq.Ft. Manufacturing facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

With more than 50 years of experience and hundreds-of-thousands of tank installations, we continue to develop new techniques, utilizing today's automation processes to improve upon our already high-quality manufacturing procedures.

All manufacturing is performed by Containment Solutions, Inc. skilled personnel throughout the transformation process, exclusively in the United States. Each step in the manufacturing process is conducted on company owned machinery resulting in US-made end products as defined in (25.003). Multiple operations are required to transform the raw materials into manufactured goods.
